How to play

Moving

Press an arrow key, or W, A, S, or D. On a touch screen, swipe across the board. Every tile slides as far as it can go.

A board with Jerry, Mary, Harry and Larry scattered across four rows, each away from the left wall.
Before the left arrow key
The same four tiles against the left wall, and a new Jerry on the right side of the second row.
After: every tile at the wall, and a new tile in the ring

Merging

Two equal tiles that meet merge into the next tile up the chain, and the new tile's value is added to the score. A tile merges once per move.

Two Jerrys in the second row with an empty cell between them, a Harry in the top right corner, and a Mary in the bottom row.
Before the left arrow key: two Jerrys in one row
One Mary at the left wall of the second row where the two Jerrys were, Harry and Mary at the left wall of their rows, and a new Jerry on the right of the third row.
After: the two Jerrys are one Mary, and a new tile appears

The new tile

After every move that changes the board, one new tile appears: Jerry nine times in ten, Mary otherwise. A move that changes nothing shakes the board.

The chain

Jerry, Mary, Harry, Larry, Dairy, Fairy, Old Lady Doc, Rabid Rabbit, Jeff, Todd, then Bartholomew.

Winning

Making Bartholomew opens the win overlay. Keep Playing continues the same board.

A glowing Bartholomew in the middle of the board, surrounded by Old Lady Doc, Todd, Jeff, Rabid Rabbit, Fairy and Dairy.
Bartholomew, the win

Game over

When the board is full and no two touching tiles are equal, the game is over. A top-ten score goes on the leaderboard.

A full board of sixteen portraits with no two equal tiles touching.
